Tactic Preset Reference

Quick reference for Esports Manager 2026 tactic presets — default, aggressive, passive, eco, and force-buy openers by map and role.

Using Presets vs Custom Tactics

Esports Manager 2026 ships with more than 250 predefined tactics across seven competitive maps. Presets are starting points — your roster's IGL quality, AWPer confidence, and rifle form still determine whether an aggressive Mirage opener works on match day. Use this reference alongside the full tactic presets guide and the in-game Tactic Creator.

Opener Styles Explained

Default openers balance map control and economy. Aggressive setups spend utility early to grab space — high variance, punishing when opponents stack defaults. Passive setups prioritize trades and late-round utility — stronger on eco chains if your riflers stay alive. Eco and Force Buy rounds are economic states, not map openers, but your preset must include fallback plans for both.

Map and Role Considerations

Dust II and Mirage reward fast cat control; Nuke and Vertigo demand coordinated upper/lower defaults. Assign presets per map in your match preparation screen, and verify AWPer sightlines on each. Role synergy matters: an IGL with low mid-round call rating needs simpler presets with fewer branching calls — see our mid-round calls guide.

Testing Before Tournaments

Run scrims or lower-tier events to test preset swaps without risking Grand Slam seeding. Track round win rate by opener type in your analyst reports if you employ backroom staff from our analyst hiring guide.
