Patch Notes
Esports Manager 2026 patch notes: Update 1.0.2 gameplay rebalance, July 12 hotfix, Update 1.0.1 changelog, and Neurona Games post-launch roadmap through July 2026.
Hotfix — July 12, 2026
A small hotfix shipped before the next major update, targeting retired-player bugs and transfer realism.
- Retired players stuck in squads — retired players no longer remain on rosters with all sell/contract/release actions locked. Existing saves self-heal on load.
- Retired-player complaint spam — retired squad members no longer send wage-demand or playing-time complaints.
- Career-start market freeze (both ways) — during the 1- or 6-month starting freeze, AI clubs no longer send offers for your players. You can still make outgoing offers. See the career start options guide.
- Smarter transfer realism — world-class players no longer leak into bottom-tier clubs. Stars resist extreme prestige downgrades; weak clubs cannot grab elite free agents far above their level; contracted stars cannot slip into weak rosters.
- German localization — improved menu labels: Globale ERS-Rangliste, Startseite, Nachrichten, Spitzname, Vertragsende, Betriebskosten, and clearer CFO termination text.
Update 1.0.2 — July 11, 2026
Patch 1.0.2 is the largest post-launch update yet, rebalancing training, wages, transfer prices, ERS gains, and match simulation AI based on community feedback from Discord and Steam.
Match simulation
Fixed pathing on all maps with additional navigation grid fixes. Corrected map loading, Terrorist timing-and-rotation behavior, and Counter-Terrorist rotations after bomb plant. Improved AI map ban algorithm and reworked buy logic in decisive rounds. Double AWP now works — the second AWP goes to the secondary sniper. Fixed behavior under different tactic rules and standard tactic descriptions. Relevant guides: match simulation, maps, tactic presets.
ERS ratings
Reduced ERS gains everywhere — per match, between teams, and per tournament. Full breakdown in the ERS rankings guide.
Training and player generation
Training rebalance: reworked formulas and impact factor for a harder progression curve. Changed training data output format. Reworked NewGen player generation with lower maximum attribute values and more variety. Quick match results rebalanced. Per-map IR calculation reworked. See weekly training plans.
Transfers and AI market
AI no longer spams the same bid daily — after rejection, teams back off 14 days then return with a higher offer. Role-aware AI emergency signings prevent stacking one role (e.g. four AWPers). AI teams under five players fill rosters faster. Fixed stranded negotiations blocking new offers. Loaned players can no longer be sold — Sell button disabled with reason shown. Wage scaling, compressed transfer prices, and bench wage drops covered below and in negotiations guide.
Economy and wages
Lowered starting and market wages. Decompressed low-end wages so weak and mid players no longer pile on a shared floor. Compressed transfer prices above mid-tier with a new value formula. Wages scale better with player rating — a strong player at a top club earns more than a weaker teammate. Wage drops 30% after one month on the bench. Details in salary cap guide.
Career start options
Undismissable manager — cannot be sacked for anything. Freeze AI transfer market for first 1 or 6 months (default 1). Full guide: career start options.
Language cohesion
Full cross-border language compatibility for Portugal/Brazil and Spanish-speaking countries. Raised CIS-UA, BR-SA, and CIS-Slavic pairs — cohesion grows toward 100% over six months in the same roster.
Interface, mail, and fixes
Player emails respect gender across all languages. Fixed crash on gendered languages (UA/PL/RU). Disabled firing emails when manager cannot be fired. Monthly sponsor income report no longer sent twice. Fixed German MVP text. Finances show income and spending per year instead of all-time. Fixed corrupted saves with missing offer owners. Scout advisor crash fixed. Player photos on promise teams fixed.
Database update (July 11)
Roster changes including Phoenix (cynaxdabest, deaNz, fl0w, Flompy, qaRty), Luminosity (lux, afro, Rainwaker, AZUWU, Bymas), Fire Flux, SAW moves, Eternal Fire (br0, Kvem), SunPayus → G2, cairne → Fnatic, KRIMZ → EYEBALLERS, and more. Several players released as free agents. Profile fixes for xEternaLxx, Zoker, and mini unretired. Import via database editor / EMDB.
Work in progress (Neurona, July 2026)
Save corruption (often antivirus/Defender related), FPS drops on Inferno and Anubis, T3–T4 tournaments (top priority, expected in July), ongoing balance for bootcamps and finances, translation improvements, and further transfer system refinements.
Update 1.0.1 — July 7, 2026
Patch 1.0.1 arrived one day after the July 6 Steam launch, addressing transfer market depth, scouting usability, simulation bugs, broadcast polish, and quality-of-life shortcuts.
Transfers and loans
The transfer market feels more alive after 1.0.1. AI organizations now loan players to and from each other—not only buy and sell. Smart club AI loans bench and young players while holding starting stars; weaker clubs borrow talent when they cannot afford permanent fees. Player consent matters: a strong player will not accept a loan to a much weaker club. Limits are enforced at two loaned in and two loaned out per team, with region and compatibility checks. When a loan ends the player returns home and the original contract is preserved. You can recall a loaned player early via the Return button for a reduced fee. Profiles show an On loan label, daily transfer news includes loan lines in all supported languages, and transfer history logs every spell.
The Sell action for your own player now stays available during an active negotiation lock—the cooldown blocks signing a new contract but no longer prevents selling to another team. Teams whose first offer comes far below market price receive an instant 365-day negotiation ban for that player. Gender squad rules now guarantee male players cannot join female squads and vice versa. Full loan strategy is covered in the loans guide.
Scouting and filters
The Confirm button in scouting filters applies selections and closes the window; Reset clears every field to zero and returns dropdowns to Any without closing. A bug that hid players when filters were left untouched is fixed—default max wage no longer sticks at 12345. The scouting header counter now shows players matching the filter, not the entire pool size. See the updated scouting guide for filter workflows.
Simulation gameplay
Fixed a post-plant bug where Terrorists did nothing while Counter-Terrorists were already defusing. Rotation routes were corrected across multiple maps so teams read the map and move as intended—relevant when reviewing map-specific tactics after the patch.
Broadcast and casters
Your localization's caster now takes the booth by default—you hear play-by-play in your game language out of the box. A batch of caster bugs was fixed for cleaner broadcasts, and between-round MVP shoutouts now highlight the correct player. Details in live events.
Hotkeys
Space advances to the next day (Continue). Backspace goes Back. Smart keys disable while notification popups are open or while typing text. Full list in controls and keybindings.
Player of the Year — EMTV Top 20
At season end, EMTV wraps up the year. From December 12 to 31, a new Top-20 Players of the Year countdown email arrives daily. The finale reveals Player of the Year with full season stats: points, K/D, trophies, tournament and match MVPs, and match of the year. Every player receives a unique localized write-up.
EMDB and database editor
EMDB hosting problems under high load were fixed. Validation for non-existing teams in player and staff profiles was added. The Add to DB feature lets you copy any player, staff, team, sponsor, or tournament from one database to another. Neurona planned a default database update with latest transfers and community-requested additions. Custom asset paths and editor workflows are documented in the database editor guide.
Miscellaneous fixes
Audio codec changes address sound glitches. Organization window design was updated. Default team icon added. Scout valuation no longer jumps on screen refresh. Players no longer complain about lack of game time for matches they missed while inactive. Physiotherapist and psychologist training issues fixed. Wrong opponent in match history after transfer fixed. Tooltip layering behind popups fixed. Coach commentator now displays as Danish (previously Dutch).
Known issues and roadmap
Neurona acknowledged ongoing work on translation gaps, duplicate tournament bracket matchups (August patch), CPU/GPU usage on Anubis and Inferno, AWP pickup logging improvements, and save corruption tied to antivirus interference. T3–T4 tournaments are the top community request — Neurona targeted delivery in July 2026. See the T3 & T4 events guide. Additional tournament bracket types planned soon after. Simulation improvements continue through July and August 2026.
